Children (ages 3-4)

All of LCA’s younger children’s classes are a mixture of improvisation and on-camera work. LCA utilizes the younger students’ energy with fun theater exercises, memorization games, and creative story telling. Students also get to perform television commercial auditions on-camera as well as shorter scenes from current TV shows and movies. Students love seeing themselves and their classmates on TV each week at the end of class and so do their proud parents.

The Beginning Reader’s Playshop enhances reading comprehension, diction, public speaking skills in a fun, creative atmosphere. "Reserved" or "shy" students gain the self-confidence to perform and speak in front of a their classmates, parental audience, and on-camera. The take-home scenes provide a great first step to reading for this age group. As in all LCA classes, students love seeing themselves and their classmates on TV each week at the end of class and so do their proud parents.

LCA offers a free 2 hour class at our On-Camera 1 for parents who are interested in learning "the basics" of the industry. Whether you have questions about getting your child representation or have representation and want to understand the business better, this class may be helpful to you.

LCA is very proud of the results we see in our younger children’s personal development and social, scholastic and creative skills. LCA's young children's programs help little ones...

LCA has divided our younger children’s classes into three different classes based on age, maturity, and reading comprehension. All first-time students must register for their appropriate age group and after they complete their first five weeks, may continue to study at the discounted continuing student rate.

The Little Tikes Playshop is for 3-4 year olds who have shorter attention spans. The Little Kids Playshop is for 4-5 year olds who are a little more mature but who cannot read yet. The Beginning Readers Playshop is for 5-7 year olds who are more mature, are starting to read, but are not mature enough to begin our On-Camera 1 class for 7-11 year olds.

Since the children have scenes to take home and memorize each week, this class is a great first step to reading for this age group. This class nurtures creativity and imagination, which comes naturally to children of this age. The kids love receiving recognition for this ability which further develops their confidence. Like all of our classes, students love seeing themselves and their classmates on TV each week at the end of class and so do their proud parents.
