This fun on-camera class will unleash the student's creativity while building their acting skills and self-confidence. This course explores the skills necessary to audition for commercials, TV, and films using current "industry auditions" and scripts. Students will: Play theater games, do exercises to build creativity, get "camera comfortable" for auditions, learn auditioning tricks & and have fun doing mock auditions from their favorite shows! The two day workshop (meets for 5 hours a day, for 2 days) or the five week workshop (meets for 2 hours a week for 5 weeks) The On-Camera 1 teaches students the basic technique used in our all classes and prepares students to confidently enter our on-camera classes with similar skill sets. Students and parents receive our Actor's Resource Notebook which provides essential information for actors at any stage of their career, and an in depth Q&A at the end of each class to answer any questions about our school, our teachers, acting training, or industry questions. We encourage students to immediately enroll in the On-Camera 2 class following the intensive to best implement and fine tune the techniques taught in the intensive. LCA offers a discount to students when purchasing both classes together (See Discount Package #1). This workshop is required before taking any other LCA on-camera classes!

This course builds and strengthens all the techniques and principles explored in the acting intensive workshop. Emphasis is placed on personalizing acting choices and techniques. After taking this class students will be proficient at breaking down scripts and audition copy and should feel more confident about their auditioning skills. Students will strengthen their ability to: Perfect their slate, breakdown auditions, make concrete acting "choices", create on the spot opening beats and understand beat changes, how to "own" their auditions & Impress our guest Casting Director! The last 15 minutes of class, students watch the class videotape together and review progress and on-camera performances. Limited to 10 students.

Once students have a comprehensive understanding of the audition process, they have the privilege of becoming an Continuing Student. Continuing Students continue to take 5 week workshops for far less tuition. This provides dedicated actors the opportunity to continue polishing their skills. Continuing Students also have an excellent opportunity to meet different industry professionals on a regular basis. Class size limited to 10 students.

Everybody love Drew Carey’s “Who’s Line Is It Anyway?” Now you too can learn the art and joy of improv! Improvisation stimulates the imagination, strengthens acting choices and stage presence, and students have a lot of FUN doing it! Improv also forces actors to think “on their feet” which is invaluable to actors at auditions or in a live performance. Commercial casting directors LOVE to bring in actors who have had improv training because commercial work largely involves acting with no lines. LCA offers our Improv Workout as a separate class or take it with the On-Camera class and SAVE ! (See our Continuing Student Package)

In order to get call backs and book jobs, more than ever private coaching is essential for theatrical auditions. Every audition is another opportunity make a good impression and LCA will help you to make a great impression and build a relationship with the casting director for future projects. LCA offers audition coaching in Orange County on the weekends and in Los Angeles Monday-Friday. LCA offers half hour and hour long coaching sessions, and offers a discounted series for those actors auditioning a lot. Call us to book a time and book the job! |

Although, LCA believes that acting is a communal art and therefore the dynamic of our On-Camera and Improv group classes is truly the best training ground, many people do contact us wanting private lessons. Usually it is because they have no experience and think that taking some private lessons will build their confidence prior to joining a group class. That may certainly be the case, and LCA is always motivated to make sure all of our students are comfortable in our classes. LCA is happy to assist newer students with private lessons prior to entering any of our other classes, but please know that many of our students are also new to acting and feel the same way you do! Our goal in our group classes and our private lessons is to make you feel your best about yourself and your acting. LCA offers private lessons in Orange County on the weekends and in Los Angeles Monday-Friday. |

Our adult audition and scene study classes are "on-camera" to best prepare actors for their job: auditioning and working on-camera! This class teaches actors how to: breakdown audition material, dissect a scene, and covers acting techniques for drama, comedy, and commercials.
We pride ourselves on teaching a solid acting foundation in ALL areas a "working actor" will encounter. With a 10:1 student/teacher ration, our on-camera classes provide the attention new students need to excel.
LCA's Continuing on-camera classes give continuing students the opportunity to work with guest teachers each session so the students gain many perspectives and become accustomed to working with new directors all the time, just like real actors do. Our Improv Workout classes really compliment the on-camera work to make sure students are confident thinking on their feet, rather than just reading from a script.
We also offer invaluable career advice, industry information, and give our students the opportunity to learn the business of acting as well as meet Agents, Managers & Casting Directors who visit LCA looking for new talent.
